Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Bharat School Ride website, apps, and services. They apply to everyone who uses the platform — visitors, parents and guardians, partner drivers and vehicle owners, and schools and societies. Please read section 3, which explains what Bharat School Ride does and does not do, and sections 10 and 11, which explain the limits of what we can promise.

Bharat School Ride is offered only in India. These terms are governed by Indian law. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and, for partner drivers, our Partner Privacy Notice.

I. The service

1. Who we are

Bharat School Ride is operated by Vidhilekha Lab LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India. In these terms, "we", "us", and "Bharat School Ride" mean Vidhilekha Lab LLP.

2. What the platform does

Bharat School Ride is the accountability layer for school transport. We verify drivers, inspect and fit vehicles against a US/EU-inspired school-vehicle safety checklist, train drivers in child safety, and give parents live tracking and WhatsApp alerts for every ride. The service is currently in an invite-only early-access phase; joining the waitlist does not guarantee access, a route, or a launch date in your area.

3. Our role in a ride

The transport itself is provided by the partner driver, not by us. Partner drivers are independent operators who own or operate their own vehicles, set their own routes and timings, and remain responsible for how they drive and for complying with motor vehicle law. We are not a transport operator and we do not employ partner drivers.

What we are responsible for is what we actually do:

We do not guarantee the conduct of any driver on any given day, and no verification or inspection can eliminate the risks of road transport. See sections 10 and 11.

4. The free upgrade offer

Where offered, the free vehicle upgrade and driver training apply to eligible vehicles and drivers on routes where Bharat School Ride launches, after physical inspection and verification. The offer is limited in time and capacity, may vary by route, and may be modified or withdrawn. Whatever is committed to a specific vehicle in writing will be honoured.

II. Using the platform

5. Your account

You must give accurate information, keep your contact details current, and keep your login and OTP to yourself. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately if you think someone else is using it. You must be 18 or over to hold an account; children do not hold accounts and are registered by a parent or guardian.

6. If you are a parent or guardian

7. If you are a partner driver or vehicle owner

8. If you are a school or society

III. Limits, liability, and disputes

10. Safety disclaimer

Bharat School Ride is a supplementary safety layer. It does not replace adult supervision, the school's responsibility, or the driver's duty of care. Live tracking and alerts depend on mobile networks, devices, and third-party services such as WhatsApp and Google, and we cannot guarantee that any individual alert is delivered or delivered on time. Do not rely on the platform as the sole safety measure for your child, and in an emergency contact the police or emergency services first.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by Indian law, we are not liable for the acts or omissions of a partner driver, a school, or a parent, or for loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including network failure, third-party service outages, road conditions, and events of force majeure. Our total aggregate liability to any user will not exceed the fees that user paid us for the service in the three months before the claim. This website and the waitlist are provided free of charge and as-is.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Indian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for fraud.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove any user, driver, or vehicle that breaches these terms, endangers a child, fails verification, or compromises the platform — immediately where a child's safety is at risk. You may leave the service at any time; see Delete Account for how your data is handled.

13. Intellectual property

The platform, the Bharat School Ride brand, and all materials on this site belong to Vidhilekha Lab LLP. Parents and schools retain ownership of the data they enter about their own children, and partner drivers retain ownership of their own documents and vehicles.

14. Complaints

Raise any complaint with us first at info@vidhilekhalab.com or through Support. We acknowledge complaints within 72 hours and aim to resolve them within 30 days. Complaints about personal data are handled by our grievance officer — see the Privacy Policy.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.

16. Changes to these terms

We will give at least 14 days' notice of material changes — on this website and, once the service is live, by WhatsApp or in-app notification. Continuing to use the platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
